Fountain 5k/3k

***TIME CHANGE***

The 3k and 5k races are now being held at the same time. Both races will begin checking at 12:00 and start racing at 12:40. Please email nwinkel2@wisc.edu with any questions.

Join us on September 21st for a unique take on a 3k and 5k. TaasaUW will be hosting a 3k and 5k race AROUND the Library Mall fountain. Yes, that is correct. ARROUND the fountain. We will have some prizes for the top places from local sponsors for the top 3 places in male and female categories for both races as well as raffle prizes for all participants

Date: September 21st 2025

Admission Cost: $10

Day Overview:

• 12:00 – 3k and 5k check-in begins 
• 12:30 – begin announcements, rules, sponsor shoutouts, lineup 
• 12:40 –  begin 3k and 5k
• 2:00 – end 3k and 5k
• 2:10 – 3k and 5k prizes 

How will we track distance?

We will be using Strava GPS tracking. Our testing as shown Strava to be effective, even in very small loops such as the fountain. More details will be added soon and provided prior to the race.

What Prizes?:

We are still getting local sponsors, but expect vouchers, discount cards, etc.. for raffle and place prizes. Every participant will receive a rubber duck for participating.

Can I Walk It?

Yes! If you want to participate but don’t want to run, you are more than welcome to.

Will There Be Refreshments

Water will be provided, but food will not be.
